OSTEOPATHY FOR BABIES

When people find out that I treat babies, often their first question is - “why would a baby need a treatment?” Well there are many reasons!

Birth - no matter how beautiful - involves an element of force upon the baby. Ideally these forces resolve on their own, however sometimes a little extra assistance may be needed to help your little one expand and grow with ease.

My approach to osteopathic treatment is always gentle and can provide a calming, nurturing experience for both the baby and parents. By supporting the overall health and wellbeing of the baby, osteopathy can help to lay the foundation for a lifetime of good health.

Some common symptoms I see and can often help with include: latching issues, difficulty with bowel movements, squirming while feeding, expressing dislike towards the car seat or pram, burping difficulties, sleep issues and a general sense of discomfort & tension that may make it difficult for your little one to relax and settle.

Osteopathy can help treat and release tensions that may be present and causing symptoms such as those listed above. While these symptoms are common in many babies, no two babies are the same, so every treatment is unique and tailored to the needs of the individual.

As an osteopath, my approach to treating babies is all about creating a calm and comfortable environment for them. I truly believe that gentle and non-invasive care is the way to go, and I love seeing how relaxed and peaceful your little ones become during their appointments. A mid-treatment snooze is not uncommon!
